The past couple of weeks, I've had my much needed (and wanted) me time. The most I've had since a very long time - I don't even remember when the last 'real' one was.
Hopefully I get more of these times so I can refresh myself from my mummy duties and just be me. I have been wanting to tidy up my office space, clean up my clutter, research on https://www.guitarcenter.com/ as well as just catch up on sleep! I know this special time is important, even if I don't want to (yeah right!). Lately I have been feeling that I am not worth more than the other members of the family - and that what I want is not important. It feels like my waking (and even sleeping!) time is consumed by following my little family's whim. This may sound harsh, but coming from a mum that is on call 24 hours every day - for a long time now - I guess it is pretty real. I am just thankful that now I am able to reclaim a bit of me back.

Games kids and adults play!
There was a time when boyfriend and I were so into Apple Mac games. We would take turns playing jewel quest 3 for mac, and other times we’d try some new game, but we’d still end up playing jewel quest again later on. He even went to surf the internet to find a good mac blog how obsessed is that? I think once in a while we still get these moments when we act like kids taking turns playing computer games, or sometimes watching while the other plays! It’s probably one of the ways we bond, among the many other childlike activities we do (we used to play Daytona, the car racing arcade game!). He sometimes made me win, which I did not appreciate, because I would have stood a chance in beating him in the game anyway! We all have our own bonding activities with our partners. No matter how silly, playful, lame it may be, it brings us closer. Thank God for moments like these. When we’re old we’d probably either laugh it off, or try playing the computer games again!

Today and on Wednesday
Today was quite a long and productive day. I actually went for early breakfast with hubby in the city, went for a picnic armed with my laptop and picnic bag at the park, went to mass, watched DVD, cooked Pinoy style Spaghetti, organised my area a bit, and some other trivial stuff. Hubby and I are thinking whether we can sustain and do this routine every sunday, as we were out and about by 8AM. On a weekend, that is quite a good start! We enjoyed our slow walk and long talks today, and it just sets the mood for the whole day, which is quite good, really.
On Wednesday, I am thinking of using my "Afternoon Off Pass" which I've won from work two fridays ago. Being in a big company, management always keeps coming up with different ways to keep us happy. That same friday my whole floor and the floor above played Bingo! Imagine that! We were all glued to our emails, as the Bingo numbers were sent there, and once one got all the numbers, he or she was to send an email to Everyone on the floor! No, I didn't win this one, but instead my name got drawn out from a hat! Lucky me!

Picnics at the Park
Don't you just love nice, sunny days especially if it falls on a pretty weekend afternoon?
Hubby and I just are so into hanging around the park on gorgeous days like this (see photo - taken at the Botanic Gardens). Armed with our picnic mat, sunnies, cameras, chocolate cake, soda, chips, book or magazine, we'd head off to the Botanic Gardens. Find our spot under the trees' shade. Watch the world go by. Or, read a magazine. Or, just take a short nap.
We'd enjoy the sunshine! We'd hear people chatter by, children playing in the grass, young teens playing truth or dare (daring to climb up that smoldering hot metallic horse statue!), couples spending nice quality time talking (and snuggling), a few photographers following the cockatoos and lorikeets, teeners basking in the sun in their swimmers (you'd think they were meant to go to the beach), occassionally a white haired man and woman walks by hand in hand so sweetly, a group of Japanese tourists taking photos of the bats hanging on the branches of the tall trees, a French mum pushing the pram of her so cute baby, some guys jumping around and making cartwheels on the grass. This and many other happenings we've witnessed. We enjoy lazing around together with the rest of the population who opt to spend their weekends outdoors. We have such a nice city, and quite a number of lovely parks to choose from. We've been to most of them in and around the city, but the Royal Botanical Gardens' charms tickle our fancy the most.
