Birds and Plans

My sister will be visiting me soon, and I am working out our itinerary for her two weeks stay. With her around, there will be three photography buffs in the house! I am the most amateur among the three but that only means most of the time I am their model!

We were looking at visiting a few gardens while she is here, and take snaps of different plants and animals while there. I know that the botanical gardens have lots of interesting birdlife, among them the hummingbirds! I am glad that my husband and my sister are into nature. So we can do some bird watching on the side. It would have been nice if we could have a hummingbird feeder in our balcony (no private garden for us) so we could catch a glimpse of them at home. Perhaps when we upgrade into a house with a big garden, I could ask husband to gift me with a cute feeder! I’ve seen that there is quite a number of varieties available!

Another place we are considering visiting when she is around would be the zoo. We went there though last time when she visited last year so I am not sure if she wants to spend the day there. A month ago husband and I went to the zoo so I will be relieved if my sister decides not to head to the zoo!

Taking photos

The past few days we've been going out during the day to take photos. We're lucky to have had really nice weather on saturday and sunday. We ended up going to the botanical gardens and the park a few blocks from our place. We also went around and did a bit of shopping again! Here's one picture I took. Not the best, but nonetheless I like it.

City Leaving

..Okay, Not!

I am wishful thinking, dreaming about trees, greens, leaves, open space, nature, away from the city! Somehow these cravings creeped up, to think I considered myself a self confessed city girl from the beginning.

When travelling, do you find yourself visiting cosmopolitan cities? I guess, to an extent I still enjoy seeing new skyscrapers and the city skyline. But recently I find myself being drawn to take photos of bugs upclose, or patiently trying to capture a kingfisher bird in a still shot. I like framing my photos to reflect on the natural elements of my trip.

I enjoy looking up the sky and snapping my Canon 40D (see photo insert of tree and sky).

I guess once in a while we really need to leave the city to enjoy the things we know we are missing.

Car Photo Circa 2008

Took this photo last year, one day I was with my family about town.

It happened so fast, a car whizzed past us, and I just snapped. I kind of liked how it turned out. And, the sepia tone created an even melodramatic old era photo-ish.

I must have taken so many photos with my SLR camera and as much as I want to try to organise them all, I can't seem to. Which is frutstrating. Well, at least I am trying to keep up to date with my scrapbooking. So far the latter is being updated.

People : City scenes

I took this photo of a man. I captured this look of him.

I am trying to decipher whether the man's look is :
peaceful,
blank,
sad,
or content.

What do you think?

Photos from My Weekend at Bulli

Continuing from my previous post, here are photos from my Bulli Weekend last month. (You pronounce it Bull-Eye)

If you're interested in travelling to Bulli, and have Qs, let me know! :) By the way I am looking at going back to this amazingly beautiful place when I get the chance!

A few notes on this weekend trip: The waves were huge and surfers were hitting the water. Though, we saw icky bluebottle jellyfishes in the water so I don't know how the surfers do it.
We stayed at Bulli Tourist Caravan park, and our beach cabin was right across from the sea. Breathtaking view. Weather was lovely, perfect for our Anzac long weekend holiday!

Bulli is only about an hour and a half by train, and the caravan park is just a few minutes from the train station, and is close to downtown Woonona. It's a family friendly place where you can do activities such as: Biking, Surfing, go Swimming, have a picnic, go bushwalking, go on a photo trip, and these are only what I can think of now. There are other places you can visit close to Bulli, such as Wollongong and Kiama.

The big 4-0

Turning 40 soon has had me thinking about a few things lately. One, major one is whether to have another baby. Hmm. I guess this is partly n...
