How exciting can it get!

I have never really been a sports fan, but watching the recent Australian Open kept me on my toes! First, Dokic's games, then Serena's, then now Nadal's(hottie)! In the beginning of each game, since I don't really know the history behind them, I don't root for a particular player. I just watch. Then thirty minutes into the game I decide who I am rooting for!! Now, watching the men's finals, three hours after the first set, I just get excited every point made by my player! Especially this finals game, such a tight competition between Nadal and Federer! One wins every other game, and then so many deuces, ties, etc. I am thinking of playing tennis (I did so ages ago!), but when I was talking to hubby earlier he said it might be just one of those hype things. So.... Hmm. Oh well, back to watching the last few hours/minutes of the Open!! I think it would be Rafel Nadal. Let's wait and see.

Keeping myself busy

At work, the girls and I were talking the other day about how they enjoyed playing their Nintendo DS games with their partners, and how fun the new Nintendo Wii is. One of my colleagues had bought so much games, including the gadgets that come along with it. She is also very much into that Wii yoga at the moment that she had to demonstrate to us how her sister and boyfriend imitated her in this weird balancing position. This got us all cracking! But really, if I had a Wii Fit game I would probably end up doing a bit more exercise.

There are just so much games to choose from that an actual window shopping day for price comparison would be necessary to be able to find the best buy! Although with how the rate things are going, I may end up just buying impulsively just before Christmas. I guess I should just consult my boyfriend or my work mate to ask for tips on choosing a good console game for me.

Perth's Air Race in November

Whoever said flying was dangerously fun must have been part of the Red Bull Air Race. There is one happening in Perth, Western Australia on November 1 and 2, 2008. It will be held at the Swan River, visible to spectators from the river banks in the city.

I've watched the Budapest version (on television), and it just caught my eye. I wish they would hold one in Sydney (near or around the city) so my boyfriend and I could see one live. We've thought of flying to Perth but then that would be quite an expensive trip that we can't afford for now. So I should just settle for live tv broadcast and photos from others.

Beijing Olympics : Aussie queen of the pool

Okay! We’ve won our first gold in swimming! I haven’t really followed so much of the Olympics. I only got to watch the Women’s lightweight lifting (and we were not even in it) and swimming. Stephanie Rice won 400m Individual medley! Such an intense competition as Coventry was coming in very close. But not close enough. Here is a link to Yahoo 7’s online olympics watch.

Games kids and adults play!

There was a time when boyfriend and I were so into Apple Mac games. We would take turns playing jewel quest 3 for mac, and other times we’d try some new game, but we’d still end up playing jewel quest again later on. He even went to surf the internet to find a good mac blog how obsessed is that? I think once in a while we still get these moments when we act like kids taking turns playing computer games, or sometimes watching while the other plays! It’s probably one of the ways we bond, among the many other childlike activities we do (we used to play Daytona, the car racing arcade game!). He sometimes made me win, which I did not appreciate, because I would have stood a chance in beating him in the game anyway! We all have our own bonding activities with our partners. No matter how silly, playful, lame it may be, it brings us closer. Thank God for moments like these. When we’re old we’d probably either laugh it off, or try playing the computer games again!

In Between Work and Sleep I play a few Games

Once in a while I get these technology bursts in me, where I find myself engrossed in computer or mac games. Although the stage doesn't last that long (around 3 weeks at the most) I think I may be interested to try out either neptune's secret for mac or jewel match for mac. I find games with storylines quite a challenge, or the ones which make one alert and makes full use of one's senses. So far I have yet to find time to do this mode of entertainment again!

Laser Skirmish in Sydney

This weekend my siblings and I are going to play laser skirmish in a city called Gosford, which is in the northern part of Sydney. We've been talking about it, getting all excited about playing against each other. Unlike laser tag, laser skirmish is played outdoors. We'd be all geared up in camouflage, BDU pants, hats, the whole outfit that one uses in combat! This will be a first time for all of us, and we are pretty enthusiastic about the activity. I could just imagine running and hiding through acres of battlefield. I am really just hoping the weather is good this weekend. Otherwise, I suppose playing in the rain would be fun too!

Cupcake Mania

If you think cupcake mania's just in Manila, you are mistaken! It is everywhere! Even in Sydney. I have come across Cupcakes on Pitt more than a year ago, while I was training for my current job, one of the trainor/speakers have brought in these yummy goodies! It was a very welcome break to our tired brains during training. The cupcakes were so cute that you would want to stare at it first before munching them in. So cute that from time to time, visitors at work would bring boxes of these to the office. A few times there was even our company logo on the goodies! How cool!

These cupcakes are guaranteed fresh on the day, and have no preservatives at all in their ingredients. These tempting treats are priced at A$2 each, which is not a bad price at all.

I heard on Valentines day this year the line actually extended all the way to Ted's Camera store next door! Cupcakes are the new Roses??

I can't wait to have my Manila friends who are visiting (soon), to try this! I guess Sonja's Cupcakes has competition. But then again, thats miles and miles away.

P.S. At one time I actually bought this game for my palm, which was Cake Mania, if you're into baking and cakes, this is quite an interesting and fun game! It's kept me up every night for a good few months!

Playing the Sims Game & Home Furnitures from Ikea and Freedom

Don't you just love going shopping to buy furnitures for the house? I do! Not that I have that much $$ to buy stuff that I want (or need in disguise). But I just find it very exciting to go to a store and visualise something you've seen at the shop, where you will be placing it at home. And whether the furnitures match your overall look at home.

Soon I hope to be visiting Ikea or Freedom, when hopefully I get my own place. I've been browsing through their sites and really so many cute and practical stuff to purchase.

I think I should have been an interior designer, as I really used to love decorating if given the chance. I may not be that good (yet), but those things can be learned. And it helps to have a bit of flair for creativity. I may have a hidden talent. A few years ago I loved playing the game Sims. I actually played it because I loved creating houses. This game's such a great time waster (hehe, I played 4 hours straight one time). So addictive. Being able to construct your house the way you want it to be, furnish it, all without having to move your bum off your chair, nor having to spend a penny (except for internet costs and electricity of course).

I am off surfing the net for home stuff. Who knows if a great bargain comes up, I may just grab it!

The big 4-0

Turning 40 soon has had me thinking about a few things lately. One, major one is whether to have another baby. Hmm. I guess this is partly n...
